Test results confirm Petal CleanseTM is a powerful weapon against pet allergies.
Petal CleanseTM products to treat cats, dogs and other small animals have been launched to combat pet allergy which, according to current estimates, affects 26% of the population in the UK and Europe.
With the number of pets maintained in households in Western Europe on the increase (a rise of 8% to almost 270 million in the last five years) it is unlikely the number of pet allergy sufferers, who currently depend on using antihistamines and steroids to treat the symptoms, will decline.

Petal CleanseTM, formulated by David Mundon at Smallburgh Laboratories Ltd on behalf of Bio-Life International, contains more than 4.5% of active ingredients, skin and coat conditioners that work by a process of encapsulation of the key allergens that trigger the appalling symptoms in pet allergy sufferers.
All the ingredients in the Petal CleansTM range have been extensively tested for use in human cosmetics and toiletries and are not subject to any restrictions on their usage by the Veterinary Medicine Directorate or the Medicines Control Agency.
All the ingredients are also non-toxic to humans and animals even when ingested and LD 50 tests carried out by successive cosmetics manufacturers reveal no ulceration of the mouth and tongue nor damage to the eyes even when applied at high levels in strictly controlled laboratory conditions.
But Petal CleanseTM is not merely a safe product to use. It is also highly effective. An independent anecdotal study conducted this year by Market Research Solutions Ltd revealed that individuals who were allergic to pets and no other allergens needed little or no medication after just three weeks of treating the pet with the appropriate Petal CleanseTM product.
In addition, the symptoms and the need for medication among multiple sufferers were reduced by almost 50% in the same timeframe.

107 people took part in the trials, all were interviewed at the outset and reported back their conclusions by telephone and by completing a medication diary. The effect of the treatment on the human population was measured in terms of:

Those participating in the testing procedure, 32% had been positively diagnosed as allergic to cats/dogs. Of these, 38% had a pet allergy only, 62% had multiple allergies while 82% were allergic to cats and 65% to dogs.
The findings of the Market Research Solutions team's analysis proved revealing. They reported:
"The use of Petal CleanseTM on pets reduces the need for medication among many pet owners allergic to their pet. The percentage saying they took no medication at all rises significantly from 5% before placement of the product to 35% after the third week of the trial.
"The average frequency with which medications are taken also falls from 3.05 to 1.8 over the same time period. The more detailed analysis also supports this -- the most marked reduction in average medication use is seen for eye drops and inhalants. Antihistamines also see a steady decline in usage over the trial period."
The findings were equally telling on the effect of Petal CleanseTM on symptoms suffered:

"The effect on the other symptoms is less marked but breathing difficulties/ asthma incidence is significantly lower in week 4 at 22% than week 1 at 39%. Further supporting evidence of Petal CleanseTM's success is the proportion of allergy sufferers reporting no symptoms; up from 2% in week I to 30% in week 4. The greatest rise being recorded between weeks 2 and 3 (between the first and second application of Petal CleanseTM).

And what did the pets themselves think of Petal CleanseTM ? They enjoyed the experience. The one's with normal coats at the outset of the trials remained in peak condition. And there were significant benefits reported for pets' coats that were in less than perfect condition at the beginning of the trials.
The findings showed: "These pets' coats are more likely to be thought normal after application of the product. There is an increase in the proportion reporting pets' coats to be shiny, from 40% in week I to 56% in week 4. On the other measures, the biggest difference is seen in the reduced number reporting their pets' coats to be dull, down from 49% to 34%."
